There is a big misconception about strength training that needs to be understood. There is the distinct difference between the building and demonstration of strength. On one hand you can show off your strength and then there is training to GET STRONG. The difference is that with training the process of acquiring strength made by training with sub maximal weights that are stimulating enough to spur on muscular adaptation. While the other is the lifting with a weight an individual can only handle for one rep. Maxing out will not provide enough of a stimulus as well as thought out approach of multiple sets and reps that build real muscle and lose fat.
Simply maxing out cannot sum up the volume of training that yield the best results to GET STRONG. Take time to think of how you want your hard spent time training to result in. Showing off your mediocre strength or building real strength.
